How to be Successful and Prepared for Proctored Exams in This Course
Federal law requires that online programs be able to authenticate their students.
Beginning of the Semester
- Ensure you have a working webcam with audio (microphone) capabilities, and buy a webcam if you do not have one.
- Setup your Examity Profile by:
- Entering your course
- Go to the Examity link in your Course Menu
- Click on the "My Profile" link from the Examity dashboard.
- Complete the required information
- Review the Examity Troubleshooting Guide for help with taking Examity tests.
- Look at your Course Syllabus for Exam dates and plan potential dates and times to complete exams requiring Examity.
Week Before Each Exam
- Schedule Exam date and time with Examity.
Remember to never schedule your exam to finish within an hour of when your exam is due. For example: if your two (2) hour exam is due at midnight, please schedule your exam to start no later than 9pm.
- Review the Examity Troubleshooting Guide to prepare your computer for taking an Examity test.
Day of Each Exam
- Log into computer at least 30 minutes prior to exam start time.
- Using Google Chrome, log into your course ready to take exam at least 10 minutes prior to exam start time.
- If your exam is a closed book exam, clear off your desk/table of all papers, books, etc. and put your cell phone in another room.
- Write down the Examity Help phone number: (855) 392-6489. If you have any problems and need to talk with an Examity support staff you will have it readily available.
Please note: If you are on campus and need to take your exam in the on-campus computer lab please schedule a room at least 5 days in advance of your exam through the Examity Open Access Lab Computer Request form or go to the Resources tab in WTClass. (Only required if you will be taking your exam at the Marmaduke Internet Innovation Center)
